Hi, I’m Emma and quite simply, I teach the yoga I love to practice. A joyful exploration of movement, breath and relaxation designed to help you feel better when you leave the yoga mat. We live in a busy world - it is all too easy to find ourselves continuously working, caring for others, anxious and disconnected; no time to breathe, let alone take time for self-care. I guide yoga practices that help to regulate the nervous system, foster greater mental, emotional, and physical resilience, and bring you home to your body as a place of safety. Coming to one of my classes is about giving back to yourself, taking the time to discover something new: through slow mindful movement and breath awareness we practise stretching, strengthening, balancing, and relaxing. There may be challenges along the way but there is no pressure to strike the perfect pose; no pressure to sit cross legged if you would prefer to kneel or sit on a chair; no pressure to stop you from just lying quietly on the mat. Every session is an opportunity to find what feels good for you personally, moving away from any self-judgement about “getting it right”. The invitation is simply to reconnect with your body and mind and ultimately, to give yourself a well-deserved break!
